Is it still the case that programmes are only as good as their programmers?

Quantum Computing

Quantum computing is a technology that uses the laws of quantum mechanics and applies it to solving problems that are, well, otherwise unsolvable in the world of classical computing.

Artificial Intelligence

Weak AI—also called Narrow AI or Artificial Narrow Intelligence (ANI)—is AI trained and focused to perform specific tasks. Weak AI drives most of the AI that surrounds us today. ‘Narrow’ might be a more accurate descriptor for this type of AI as it is anything but weak; it enables some very robust applications, such as Apple's Siri, Amazon's Alexa, IBM Watson, and autonomous vehicles.

Strong AI is made up of Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) and Artificial Super Intelligence (ASI). Artificial general intelligence (AGI), or general AI, is a theoretical form of AI where a machine would have an intelligence equaled to humans;

Will quantum computing make the possibility of Strong AI probable?

What is the driving force?

1] Ensuring Global dominance- If we don’t lead, someone else will [Financial and Military]

2] To solve all “humanities” problems, who determines what the solution can be? Human or AI?

3] Only profit matters. [Capitalism]

4] All of the above?

What happens when a human programmer’s capability no longer matters?

What does quantum AI come up with when questioned, “how does one take over the world”.

What regulations are in place?

We have maybe 3 years to come up with the answers.

Judging by current timescales humans need to come up with decisions over climate change, I am not sure 3 years is nearly enough.

Once the step is made, there will be no going back, just like the initial decision that we made to come down out of the trees.

Just a thought.
