I can't believe that I never posted this pic before.
For most of us, 2020 was the Year We Stayed Home. Early that year, Covid came to our shores and everything shut down. I’m enough of a hermit that I got by just fine, just me and Noble Fur hanging out at home.
We did make one trip that summer. In July, my sister and her husband drove from Reno to spend time at a family property in the Missouri Ozarks. I drove from central Georgia in one long day, covering more than 600 miles. I carried all the food and beverages that I would need. The only public locations where I stopped were at gas stations. Restaurants and highway rest areas were off limits.
At a pit stop in northwestern Georgia.
Our destination was an old farm house south of the town of Van Buren. The area is famous for Big Spring and the Current River. Elsewhere in the Ozarks are other impressive large springs.

The Ozark springs and rivers are delightfully cold. Given that we arrived in time for a hot spell with 100-degree temperatures, the chilly waters offered some relief from the heat.

If you’re interested in seeing more of the scenery from Big Spring, check these two diaries that I posted last year.

Thanks for following along on another of Noble Fur’s adventures. The floor is yours. As always, your comments and pictures are welcome.
