Democrats put responsibility for raising the debt ceiling on Republicans and SCOTUS. [1]

Democrats are in a no-win position. The nation and the world will blame the Democrats if the debt ceiling isn't raised and U.S. and world financial catastrophe follow. This blame can be avoided only if Democrats shift the onus of raising the debt ceiling onto the Republicans and the Supreme Court.

This can only be done by President Biden's using his authority to pay the U.S. debt by invoking the 14th Amendment. If the Republicans don't like Biden's following his duty to uphold the Constitution, then they can take the matter to the Supreme Court. SCOTUS would be obligated to deal with the Republican's suit swiftly. If SCOTUS doesn't rule within hours or a day, SCOTUS and the Republicans who brought the case would be responsible for the world financial collapse. Biden and the Democrats would not be blamed because Biden would have already done his duty as President, invoking the 14th Amendment, and the debt would have been paid unless the Republicans interfered.

Biden is the righteous actor in the above scenario. He is performing his Constitutional duty by invoking the 14th and paying the nation's already incurred debt. If the Republicans object to Biden's paying the debt, they are causing financial catastrophe if they decide to take the matter to the Supreme Court. If their objection reaches SCOTUS and SCOTUS doesn't immediately rule favorably for Biden's use of the 14th Amendment, then SCOTUS is causing financial ruin for the U.S. and the world.
