I created this account for the sole purpose of responding to the question posed the other day of "How Come Liberal Is Such a Bad Word."

I would suggest that it became "bad" by design; the same way that "woke" became "bad" and "any and all of Biden's policies" became bad, and how CRT became bad.
I will let Christopher Rufo explain CRT. For those who cannot read the screen capture, it says:
“Christopher F. Rufo @realchrisrufo • Mar 15
Replying to @realchrisrufo and @ConceptualJames
We have successfully frozen their brand—"critical race theory"—into the public conversation and are steadily driving up negative perceptions. We will eventually turn it toxic, as we put all of the various cultural insanities under that brand category.
Christopher F. Rufo @realchrisrufo • Mar 15
The goal is to have the public read something crazy in the newspaper and immediately think "critical race theory." We have decodified the term and will recodify it to annex the entire range of cultural constructions that are unpopular with Americans.”
As a side note, DeSantis appointed Rufo to the New College board of trustees.
This morning on TYT, they were playing interviews of attendees at trump's non event in Iowa. When asked what his definition of "woke" was one guy said "Accepting everything that is evil." This sounds very much like what one might say about CRT if one were to buy into Rufo's definition.
I will also let the link below explain how "any and all of Biden's policies" became bad.
I would, however, add this comment of mine made on another social media platform about this right-wing tactic.
"Calling every Biden policy "socialism" is a variation on the tactic they tried with CRT, viz. Christopher Rufo's tweets. In the former, they chose a politically charged trigger word, "socialism" and tried to associate it with things they didn't like; in the latter they took a neutral phrase, Critical Race Theory, and tried to turn it into a politically charged trigger word by associating it to things their audience didn't like. Both attempts were cynical and dishonest."

Here is a bit more information on CRT and Rufo.
