Good morning, Folks. Today’s music is for your mothers. But first

I tried to keep most of these tunes on the lighthearted side. A lot of Youtube’s options with mother in the title are way too saccharine for my tastes. I’m thinking of those in the country genre. The only song I chose that is a near hagiography is 2Pac’s “Dear Mama.” That piece’s urban grittiness more than offsets it’s gushy adulation.

And then there’s “Bohemian Rhapsody.” How else was Freddy Mercury going to explain to his deeply religious mother that he was gay?
