Thanks to CNN, last night we got to sense what a "lynching picnic" was surely like! [1]

Many of you, like me, have already, with deep, heartbreaking regret, had to cut ourselves off from them, because they just got way too toxic. -If they were friends, that is now over. If they are relatives, we can no longer talk to them at family gatherings. If they are coworkers, we now avoid them at the workplace as much as we can.
Have they become even worse, since we had no choice but to stay away from them?
Last night made me think the answer is yes.
I didn't even watch the town hall!
I only witnessed a few minutes of it, and was horrified ONLY by the audio, without even looking at the screen!
IT WAS THE LAUGHTER!
It is going to haunt me forever! -about 400 people, from what I've read,
laughing like a Seinfeld audience, when a demon on stage joked and made mocking statements about a sexual assault.
I think back to 2017, the first time since we KNEW the year before that we were definitely in a new kind of hell, that I watched something that disturbed me this way, although not as much as last night.
-This was a film from the 1930s, recorded at an American Nazi party rally.
What I remember, so vividly, was the grotesque, blatantly festive demeanor of the large crowd. There was even a scene where a child began dancing around.
That is what I thought of first, after witnessing the psychotic laughter from the CNN town hall.
And, just now, I realized what else that laughter was.
-It was the sound, from 110, 130 or whatever years ago, of a picnic at a lynching!
I'm sure we have all heard about these. -Where entire small towns gathered in parks and town squares with picnic baskets, to CELEBRATE a gruesome collective act of hate and murder!
Thanks, CNN, for bringing back for me the sound of laughter from the most horrible way in our past that Americans gathered together!
You brought deeply disturbed Americans together in a similar way again last night, to laugh at perhaps the most awful things imaginable!
