In the CNN town hall last night, Trump kept talking about Wisconsin. That’s not a coincidence. He can’t retake the White House if he doesn’t win Wisconsin.

Trump definitively lost Wisconsin in 2020—by 20,682 votes, just six-tenths of one percentage point. He’s never admitted that reality. And he’s never gotten over it. Why? Because Wisconsin put him over the top in 2016… and then tipped his defeat in 2020.

If you look at the Electoral College math—stringing together states by Biden’s margin of victory and their Electoral College votes—it’s clear which Trump needs to win in order to grab back the White House. It rhymes with “Schmisconsin.”
Here’s another way of looking at it—the states that stack up to 270 Electoral College votes. Wisconsin is the state that pushes you over the line. This is by Wisconsin pollster Charles Franklin.
It’s not just that it’s necessary for the GOP to win Wisconsin by dint of the Electoral College math. It’s also that they could flip Wisconsin, by dint of demographics, geography, and history. It’s the state Dems are (and should be) most concerned about.
Wisconsin isn’t just America’s Dairyland. It’s the home of the nailbiter. It’s the only state where four of the last six presidential elections have come down to less than a 1% margin.
This is why the GOP’s first presidential primary debate will be in Wisconsin—this August, just three months from now.
It’s why the Republican National Convention will be in Wisconsin, next July.
It’s why Ron DeSantis was here last Saturday.
And most of all, it’s why Donald Trump will say and do just about anything to win in the Badger State.
Which is why, if you want to stop him, you have to support the work on the ground here.
