My gut feeling-

The debt ceiling impasse isn’t about being fiscally responsible. If we rolled back Trump’s tax cuts for billionaires social security would be solvent for at least the next fifteen years. It seems to me this is about overthrowing the government. Plan A on January 6th didn’t work so plan B seems to be overthrowing the government by way of seizing it’s finances through loop holes such as this. Their hope, it seems, is to immobilize agencies such as the Justice Department rendering it unable to eventually prosecute sitting congress men and women involved in January 6th.
