AI chat and writerbots are all the buzz at DK right now, with justifiable concerns about not only the quality and corporate influence, but will humans still have jobs doing similar things. And then this was on my TV a few minutes ago:
A Wendy’s hamburger restaurant in Columbus, Ohio is introducing a Google chatbot powered AI for their drive thru. We knew this was coming. Once restaurants fix the kinks, this will be everywhere. You know how annoying and frustrating the automated phone chatbots are? It’ll be like that, but with your food order! Or everything else.
To Serve Man? Or put him out of work?

If this keeps up, we’re gonna need Guaranteed Basic Income, folks. Because Capitalism’s endgame is paying as few human wages as possible. And I’d noted a month or two ago that Wendy’s eliminated their $4 bag of drink, burger, nuggets and fries. Now it’s $5 and not really any better.
