If we are to reach the Magic-60 in 2024 we will have to run the table

Impossible, you say?

So was running the Senate table in Georgia in 2020. Or Warnock repeating his win. So was beating an incumbent President with the full support of his party, who used every lever of power, legal and illegal, while getting the highest vote count EVER for a losing side. So was the lackluster Republican showing in the 2022 mid-terms. So were a clutch of special elections that have surprised even optimistic Democrats. These outcomes are historical facts. The all occurred while major media outlets kept a steady drum-beat of can’t, can’t, can’t, can’t, can’t, can’t, can’t, can’t, with a soothing normalized back beat.

Perhaps we can all agree that these are not ordinary times.

Sixty is a stretch, no doubt – but the effort necessary will not exceed the collective physical and emotional toll from enduring the very long list of ills we have zero power to overcome without a Magic-60.

This is a ‘shot over the bow’ Diary. The inspiration comes from the one who knows who suggested ‘Bribe for Thomas’ dollars.

The context I might suggest is a tad different – but the idea of Thomas Bribe Bucks could be one of many fun money raising ideas to elect more Democratic Senators. The options are endless and endlessly entertaining – it all comes down to details, details, details.

This is an exploratory Diary. We shall see.
