Mike Allen of Axios has an “exclusive” that Tucker Carlson will start spilling his guts about FOX unless they let him out of his contract. Seems Carlson has some more delusions of grandeur, and he intends in setting up some kind of — ahem — “media empire.” And he wants to strike will the iron is hot. And if he doesn’t get his way, Carlson’s right wing media allies with big platforms are going to help him out.

No, this is not satire, at least not on my part.

Tucker Carlson is preparing to unleash allies to attack Fox News in an effort to bully the network into letting him work for — or start — a right-wing rival, sources close to him tell Axios. Bryan Freedman, the high-powered Hollywood lawyer Carlson retained for the contract dispute, told Axios: "The idea that anyone is going to silence Tucker and prevent him from speaking to his audience is beyond preposterous." Why it matters: Tucker vs. Fox could reshape the conservative news world. Fox, which has seen its ratings plunge in Carlson's slot since he was let go 13 days ago, wants to sideline him by paying him $20 million a year not to work.

Supposedly, Carlson has this idea about a “direct to consumer media outlet” planned, and he has even had a meeting with Elon Musk or at least talked to Musk. The reason why I mention this is because he is the ONLY BIG NAME dropped into this article, and it is not guaranteed that Musk is going to help Carlson. But there are no other names mentioned. Nada. Zip. Zilch. None.

But this is all part of Carlson’s master plan of keeping this “quiet and clean.” Sure. By leaking this to Axios. That’s how I would keep this negotiation quiet. /s.

According to the article, Carlson is stuck with his contract until Jan 2025. But Carlson figures that if he waits too long he will end up like — gulp — Bill O’Reilly. And we all know that Carlson wants his power back, so he cannot sit around and lose out on playing a role in the 2024 Election.

So here we have Carlson strapped with explosives to his chest with a dead man’s switch trying to extort Fox to let him out of his contract. There is just one little problem with this scenario. Fox has dirt on Carlson, and they could just as easily drop more of those behind the scenes videos of Carlson being Carlson. And what investor in his right mind wants to spend money on Carlson now.

Musk has enough trouble burning up all that cash for his ruination of Twitter, so I doubt he will lend a helping hand to Carlson.

And just one more little thing. Why the hell would Fox want to help ANYONE to setup another right wing disinformation platform? The reason Fox ended up in this mess is because Rubert and the rest are scared shitless about losing the Trump viewing audience.

Mike Allen should stop falling for Tucker Carlson’s bullshit.
