"Let me be clear: A no-strings-attached debt-limit increase cannot pass." ~ Current Republican House Speaker Kevin McCarthy

GOP House Speaker Kevin McCarthy's "Default on America Act" threatens to ruin the full faith and credit of America, put millions of hard-working women and men out of jobs, destroy countless businesses, drive investors away from the U.S. dollar, increase import prices, magnify inflation, disable Medicaid, Medicare, and Social Security, force closures of government offices, and cause stock markets worldwide to plummet ----- unless Democrats agree to massive cuts to services for hard-working Americans while forcing taxpayers to give the following handouts to the richest corporations and individuals in the nation which will add more than five trillion dollars to the 2023 deficit (according to Americans for Tax Fairness Action) by:

Eliminating the estate tax for the wealthiest households - $1.8 trillion

Extending Trump tax cuts for corporations - $405 billion

Renewing Trump tax cuts for the richest 1% - $3 trillion

Slashing funding intended to give the IRS the ability to audit wealthy tax cheats - $114 billion

President Biden and Democrats in Congress have called on McCarthy and his merry band of extortionists to knock off threats to force a default, put politics aside, and courageously negotiate with Democrats to produce a viable budget with provisions to pay down the national debt by more effectively managing taxpayer money while requiring the richest individuals and corporations in America to pay their fair share of taxes at, as crazy as it might sound, the same rate as first responders and teachers.

Suppose House Republicans refuse to knock off their histrionic threats and decline to negotiate the budget as they are paid to do as representatives elected to protect and preserve the best interests of the American people.

In that case, the Republican House caucus might very well face a Blue Tsunami on Tuesday, November 5, 2024.

And that'd be a shame.

Or would it?

Just asking . . .

Regards to all,

Davy Z Jones
