May 5 of 1973, Saturday evening, to be more exact.
I do not remember specifics but I can pretty well provide a guess… at this time of night, 9:38 I will probably sawing some wood, as I would have just turned 4 about 14 days ago. Usually my weekend days consisted of me going to the local mall on Saturday where we would stop by Kresge 5 and dime on the first mall stop and my mom would buy me a math or reading workbook from the child books selection and a bag of chocolate stars from their candy counter. We would then go to the mall store she would always go to to get her hair cut, then when I kept myself busy on the book and an occasional star we would go to the mall’s coney island for lunch before heading home. Hey, I am grew up in metro Detroit every mall or street corner has/had a coney island.
Then in the day we would pick up my mom’s mom for dinner and to watch tv or maybe she would babysit us.
Wow…..that took me way, way, back, in a positive way,
Where were you in 1973 on May 5?
