CNN Decides To Give Donald Trump A Townhall Event In New Hampshire Because... [1]

Current CNN Chairman And CEO Chris Licht wants to capture the Fox viewing audience. From Jeff Zucker who helped get Donald Trump elected to Chris Licht who wants to be the captain of the Titantic. To accomplish this goal, Licht is giving free air time to Donald Trump for an event in New Hampshire, which just happens to be the first state to hold a GOP primary for 2024.

Former President Donald Trump will participate in a CNN presidential town hall next week in New Hampshire, the network announced Monday. “CNN This Morning” anchor Kaitlan Collins will moderate the event at St. Anselm College, which will air at 9 p.m. ET on May 10 and will feature the former president taking questions from New Hampshire Republicans and undeclared voters who plan to vote in the 2024 GOP presidential primary. This will be Trump’s first appearance on CNN since the 2016 presidential campaign.

Emphasis is mine. After 2016, Trump called CNN “fake news.” But CNN is so desperate to boost its ratings, it will provide more free publicity for Trump. And in case you missed it, guess who is hosting this travesty? Kaitlan Collins!

Announcing the event to be held at St Anselm College on Wednesday 10 May, CNN said: “The former president and 2024 Republican presidential candidate will take questions from [anchor Kaitlan] Collins and a live audience of New Hampshire Republican and undeclared voters who say they intend to vote in the New Hampshire Republican presidential primary.”

For those of you who do not remember all the names of some so called journalists, Kaitlan Collins used to work for TUCKER CARLSON’s DAILY CALLER! Trump must be feeling great that he will not have to deal with Don Lemon! This really is rolling out the red carpet for Trump.

CNN is claiming that this free media time is necessary and essential to cover all leading presidential candidates. However, I seem to recall that CNN gave a townhall to Starbuck’s CEO Howard Schultz before the last presidential election. Yeah, that guy. It was because CNN wanted Schultz to run because he is a economic reactionary with a few so called “socially liberal” positions. And Schultz wasn’t leading in anything politically, and he decided not to be a Third Way stalking horse in 2020.

And here is the flip side to that “leading” presidential candidates BS. Trump is the FTG. Who doesn’t know who the fuck Trump is? The mofo hasn’t gone away for the last 8 years! If you don’t know who Trump is, you are mentally disabled or have lived in one of the Unibomber’s old hideouts.

And CNN claim they will have UNDECIDED Republican voters at this townhall to ask questions. Really? How is CNN to determine that? Are they going to perform Vulcan mind melds with those who claim to be undecided? It’s not like Republican voters do not lie to the media or pollsters.

Oh, and there is that little thing that TRUMP LED AN INSURRECTION TO OVERTURN THE RESULTS OF THE LAST ELECTION AND DECLARE AN END TO DEMOCRACY! This is one of the most egregious examples of the media trying to normalize what is anything but normal. Trump is a fucking fascist who will end democracy, and CNN is giving him air time!

And I was glad to see I wasn’t the only one having a shit fit about this development:

Carusone said: “Donald Trump is the frontrunner for Republican nomination; it benefits no one to pretend otherwise. “But this is risky business and CNN should go into this clear-eyed: Trump will lie and he will attack. Trump has been repeating the same torrent of lies in his speeches and interviews with rightwing media figures for months. Nothing he will say will be new. “So if CNN lets him get away with it unchallenged, they have no excuse. CNN isn’t being graded on a curve here.” Carusone also pointed to cable networks’ struggles since Trump left office. “I can’t help but notice that this comes just as Fox’s ratings are in freefall and CNN’s shift hasn’t born any fruit,” he said. David Rothkopf, a Daily Beast columnist and author of Traitor: A History of American Betrayal from Benedict Arnold to Donald Trump, called CNN’s decision “irresponsible”. The town hall, he said, would be “a sham if it does not lead with the question, ‘You lead an insurrection against the government of the US, why should any American voter support a candidate who sought to undermine the constitution, institutions and values he was sworn to uphold?

And the best comment goes to Keith Olbermann:

Keith Olbermann, a Trump critic and former MSNBC host, said: “I think we can say Chris Licht’s conversion of CNN into a political and journalistic whorehouse is complete.”

This is worse than sickening. CNN can go and fuck itself.
