I don’t remember much about the Reagan years, I was too busy working. I read that Reagan got 489 Electoral Votes in 1980 against Jimmy Carter with only 50.8% of the popular votes. But there was also an independent candidate to dilute democratic votes. Another reason to eliminate the Electoral College.

Reagan was a very good speaker and mesmerized everyone in 1984 and won 49 states against Mondale.
Also the democrats in both races apparently wanted a nuclear freeze, not a popular opinion during the cold war years.
No, I didn’t vote for him.
Does anyone else have an opinion on why democrats lost these elections?

Maybe more like your taxes provide food for everyone’s cows.

Actually the government sells most of the milk to buy dachas and yachts, and barely give you enough milk to survive.
Fascism:You have two cows. You give all of the milk to the government, and the government sells it.
More like the government takes both cows and and only gives milk to the “right” people.
Nazism:You have two cows. The government shoots you and takes both cows.
Kind of like communisms except communists torture you to death.
Anarchism:You have two cows. Keep both of the cows, shoot the government agent and steal another cow.
Capitalism:You have two cows. Sell one cow and buy a bull.

My understanding of Markism: You outlaw ownership and seize all property and divide everything between the workers.
Sounds great but it’s never going to happen. This is designed to get people to think it’s going to happen and join the revolt. Used by the Bolsheviks to take over the Russian Revolution,
