This is a nice little park located along the Alabama River, which flows through Montgomery. Great place for a picnic lunch. In summer there are tourist paddleboats out on the river.

For those who don't know, I live in a converted campervan and travel around the country, posting photo diaries of places that I visit. I am currently in Alabama.

Like most major cities, Montgomery was founded on a navigable river

Sidewalk winds along the river

The “Cotton Slide”. Used to haul bales of cotton down to the river for shipping.

Today all that remains are the stone supports
