Tammy Baldwin has been leading the way her whole life. She was first elected to the Dane County Board of Supervisors while in law school at UW-Madison. She moved on up to the state Assembly, the U.S. House, and then the Senate in 2012.
When I was a kid, Tammy Baldwin was a local hero. She was in the state Assembly when I was in high school, and used to attend—and win—debates with other state legislators in front of audiences of students too young to vote.
When she won her first Congressional primary in 1998, my friends and I proudly volunteered on her campaign. The next day, the headline in the local paper was “YOUTHQUAKE.” She’s inspired youthquakes again and again.
She’s broken glass ceilings. As Wisconsin’s first female Senator and the nation’s first openly gay person elected in both the House and Senate.
As she often said on the campaign trail, she didn’t run to make history—she ran to make a difference. She’s done both.
Tammy lifts up Wisconsin’s voice in Washington. Dairy farmers in Viroqua. Factory workers in Green Bay. Families in Waukesha facing rising costs. Across geography, gender, and generation, everyone here knows that Tammy knows them, hears them, and works for them.
Senator Baldwin led the fight to protect marriage equality—introducing the Respect for Marriage Act, and recruiting a bipartisan coalition, including 12 Republican Senators and every Democrat, to vote it through. It is now the law of the land.
Tammy knows that Wisconsin’s dairy farmers are the heart of our state. She introduced the DAIRY PRIDE Act to advocate for farmers across the midwest, especially in Wisconsin, by making clear this simple fact: milk is milk.
When the MAGA Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, Senator Baldwin led the fight back for reproductive freedom—and she’s still leading it. She’s the author of the Women’s Health Protection Act, recently re-introduced. Let’s reelect her and get it passed!
Our veterans deserve the best, and Tammy knows that. She helped expand VA health care and benefits to the more than 3.5 million veterans who were exposed to toxic burn pits during their service—the most significant VA expansion in over three decades.
Tammy Baldwin has, in short, gone from local hero to statewide hero and national hero. She’s still making history, she’s still making a difference—and she’ll do even more in her third term. The WisDems will be putting it all on the line to ensure she wins.

In 2018, Tammy Baldwin was one of the GOP’s top targets in the nation. The GOP spent over $14 million against her. She won in a landslide.
But in 2022, Republicans spent far more—$77 million—and eked out a 1-point victory for Ron Johnson.
