Anchovies, please

My most unforgettable pizza was a small, thin crust cheese with anchovies. This would be the late '60s at a little place "downtown" which was an almost popular hang out. Early one afternoon I got there and ordered the above. I was the only customer. I do believe the folks behind the counter understood my request -- she spoke English, he listened to her. I was taking a bold step, with just enough money to cover it. Oh my...it was so delicious.
