March 31 is the International Transgender Day of Visibility.

I originally wasn't going to do much this year, but the unending shitshow of performative cruelty from right-wing assholes devoid of anything but hatred and the need to find an Other to scapegoat dictates otherwise.

I live in a blue city (Toledo) in a red state (Ohio). I feel safe. I generally don't have to confront bigotry directly. But so many of my brothers and sisters and enby siblings are being terrorized into hiding, into the miserable denial of the closet.

My name is Emily and I am an out and proud transgender woman.

I invite all my trans (or hell just gender non-conforming) siblings to stand up and be seen and heard.

Know that you are not alone and that you are worth being yourself and that you are loved.
