Site of Nashville School Shooting

During the coverage in the aftermath of the recent Nashville mass shooting I believe it was the Governor of Tennessee who said, “This Is not a time for hate or rage.” IMHO he was only half right, and that was about hate.

However, if you are not over the moon outraged about these continuing senseless acts of mass violence, many of which target our school children, you’ve lost touch with your humanity. I sincerely believe we must not allow ourselves to be desensitized to what is happening.

Feel the outrage!! Because it is a righteous outrage. If we ever stop being strongly outraged by this insanity, the way too many of us are willing to accept for political expediency, we will, for all practical purposes, turn ourselves in to “The Walking Undead.” As in “Brave New World” what is the SOMA that is keeping us like sheep?

Resignation, AKA giving up, is what will allow these horrendous acts to continue. So, allow yourself to feel a righteous rage that will impel us, collectively, to take the actions needed to stop this madness. Organize around your Rage. Let your Outrage scream through the halls of congress and every state legislature. We must channel our righteous outrage into mass actions, spontaneous and planned. Take to the streets en masse, use sit ins, teach ins, scream ins, pray ins, die ins, sleep ins, etc.
