Assault Weapons Ban: the only issue for 2024 [1]

An assault weapons ban has widespread support. It is one very emotional issue that can bring people together. It is an issue that can bring voters back into the “D” column. I propose that 2024 be a single issue election — ban assault weapons. Every candidate in every election should be asked point blank, “Do you support a ban on assault weapons?” ; asked over and over again. Of course there are other issues, but this one is simple and carries the emotional weight that can counter the idiotic Republican culture wars. It will add support for Joe Biden, who owns the ban.

The intransigence of Republicans to do anything following the Nashville shootings is appalling, and I think it has shocked many of their constituents. We can build on that and win back our country. Focus and win.
