Just what is the Antichrist? Hint: It's not Joe Biden [1]

Yes, once again, a right wing televangelist has told his audience that Joe Biden is the Antichrist. Accusations like this are not new. These TV "preachers" have, in the past, accused Barack Obama, George Soros, Prince Charles (Now King Charles), John F Kennedy, Mikhail Gorbachev, Pope John Paul II, and many others of being the so-called "Son of Perdition". So, with that in mind, I'd like to examine what makes up an "Antichrist". .

First of all, "The Antichrist" is the subject of movie after movie, and people believe that he actually exists, or will exist. However, in the Bible, the word "Antichrist" is only mentioned twice and, both times, it merely states that whoever espouses doctrine that is against Christ is an Antichrist. That's all it says. .

So, with that in mind, let's see what qualities an Antichrist has: .

1- Someone who violates the Ninth Commandment, by bearing false witness (in other words, lying) against someone. How can I count the ways? Accusing Obama of forging a fake birth certificate? Accusing Clinton, along with his wife Hillary, of murdering political opponents? Falsely accusing the LGBTQ community of "grooming children"? Burning crosses (Yes, that still happens today)? Making false anti-Semitic accusations against George Soros? Accusing Biden of stealing an election? Yes, we all know who is bearing false witness, and it isn't those who are the recipients of these lies.

2- This one is the kicker. Who is cutting food for children, turning away refugees at the border, not visiting the sick, attempting to dismantle Social Security and Medicare, and generally is in favor of people going without food, water, health care, and everything else that improves the lives of their fellow Americans? We are getting closer to the truth now. It isn't the Jews. It isn't the Catholics, it isn't the LGBTQ community. And it isn't the Biden administration. Many of those who wave their bibles around so that everybody can see them on TV obviously never read Matthew Chapter 25, in which Jesus says that, whatever we have not done for "the least of these" they have not done for him, and he condemns them all to hell.

3- To love thy neighbor as thyself? That is the question. What is called "The Greatest Commandment" is not followed. Examples of hate, which the Bible condemns, include January 6, Charlottesville, Klan meetings (They do claim to be Christian), antisemitism, book banning, threats against public officials, leaflets condoning hate, assassinations of governmental and religious leaders (JFK, MLK, etc), and other heinous acts against American society.

4- Finally, Christian Nationalists, who want to merge the "Church" with the "State". They haven't read the Bible either, or have just cherry picked a few bits from it in order to fulfill their own political agenda. The book of Revelations shows a whore riding a beast. According to ALL biblical scholars, the whore is an apostate church and the beast is the "state" government upon which it rides.
