Police and EMS responded to calls claiming to be from inside the schools and witnessing both the an active shooter and victims, but thankfully no violence had actually occurred. The biggest response was around the threats near Central Catholic and Oakland Catholic Schools, both of which are close to the University of Pittsburgh and Carnegie Mellon and triggered university lockdowns.

Hopewell, Laurel Highlands, and New Castle School districts also received threats. Pittsburgh Public schools went into a modified lockdown as a precaution.

To the jagoff who pulled this stunt — Fuck. You. We’ve already done this for real at Western Psychiatric Hospital and the Tree of Life Synagogue. This is worse than not funny, it’s fucking obscene. I hope you are caught and prosecuted to fullest extent of the law, and despite your vileness and cruelty, I hope that you never, EVER have to know what this situation is like to personally live through.
