Republican leadership can not be trusted to do the right thing [1]

I think that many Republican and independent voters can be peeled off with three issues that show Republican leadership is disgracefully opportunistic and unqualified to lead the United States.
Guns — according to the Washington Post yesterday, one in 20 Americans own at least one AR15 semiautomatic rapid fire large magazine rifle derived from the US Army’s M16 rifle, thanks to the Republican refusal to reinstate the automatic weapons ban in 2004 and repeated refusals since then. That is 16 million people with weapons that even scare the police, increasingly used in mass shootings.
Climate change — repeatedly scoffed at by the Republican leadership. They do not give one damn about the future.
Abortion — removing women’s rights to control their reproduction.
There are lots of other issues where Republican leadership cannot be trusted to do the right things. But I think these three are stand outs and should be heavily leaned on in upcoming elections, under the mantra “Republican politicians cannot be trusted to lead our nation”.
