OH Look! Abby "I'm OK with lies told on Fox shows I produce" Grossberg Gets Fired By Fox!
In a not shocking move, Fox propaganda has fired one of its producers, Abby Grossberg, for filing a lawsuit against the network stating that Fox pressured her to provide false testimony during her depositon in the Dominion lawsuit. In other words, Grossberg filed her own lawsuit because Fox higher ups wanted Grossberg to be the fall woman for Fox’s pushing Trump’s Big Lie. The excuse Fox used for terminating Grossberg was that she revealed “privileged communications” in her lawsuit.
Who did not see this coming?
Fox News has fired a producer who filed a lawsuit against the network in which she claimed that she was coached and coerced by the network’s lawyers to give misleading deposition testimony in the defense against Dominion Voting Systems’ defamation lawsuit. The network confirmed that she was dismissed. Fox News contends that she failed to protect privileged company information in her lawsuit. In her lawsuit, filed in U.S. District Court in New York and Delaware Superior Court on Monday, Abby Grossberg’s attorneys said that she had been put on forced administrative leave, calling it a “blatant display of unlawful retaliation.” They also claimed the network retaliated against her after she complained about unlawful harassment based on her gender and Jewish religion. In a statement, Fox News said, “Like most organizations, Fox News Media’s attorneys engage in privileged communications with our employees as necessary to provide legal advice. Last week, our attorneys advised Ms. Grossberg that, while she was free to file whatever legal claims she wished, she was in possession of our privileged information and was not authorized to disclose it publicly. We were clear that if she violated our instructions, Fox would take appropriate action including termination. Ms. Grossberg ignored these communications and chose to file her complaint without taking any steps to protect those portions containing Fox’s privileged information. We will continue to vigorously defend Fox against Ms. Grossberg’s unmeritorious legal claims, which are riddled with false allegations against Fox and our employees.” Variety first reported on her termination.
Ms. Grossberg’s sin was not only the lawsuit, but she decided to spill some tea about the boys at Fox, especially the pieces of shit that work for Tucker Carlson.
Grossberg's lawsuits also name Carlson and members of his show's staff as defendants. The suits are replete with examples of alleged sexism that permeate the workplace at Carlson's show. Images plastered around the workplace show former U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi in "a plunging bathing suit revealing her cleavage," Grossberg's lawsuit states. Grossberg alleges staffers were polled — on two separate occasions — on which of two female candidates for Michigan governor they would rather have sex with. She alleges that her boss at the show, Justin Wells, conceded she was paid less than male counterparts. Grossberg also alleges male executives consistently belittled and demeaned Bartiromo and another female host, Jeanine Pirro. Grossberg's lawsuit states that, in questioning by Dominion's lawyers under oath, she was asked to read aloud text messages written by Carlson. In them, he said Powell was lying and referred to her as a "c---," among other vile and derogatory terms. The Dominion lawyer asked Grossberg if those messages made her uncomfortable. She said no. But in her lawsuit, Grossberg says that was not true.
Now, unless you think that Ms. Grossberg is some brave whistleblower, here is what she stated during that deposition about lies being told on Fox:
Grossberg worked for another Fox News star, Maria Bartiromo, at the time of the November 2020 elections. Bartiromo has been a key figure in the Dominion case, as she repeatedly seemed to give a warm welcome to on-air guests who championed baseless claims that Dominion helped cheat then-President Donald Trump of victory. Among those on-air guests was attorney Sidney Powell, a Trump ally. Powell used Bartiromo's weekend show to spread the claims. On air, Powell presented no evidence. Behind the scenes, she gave Bartiromo a lengthy and wild memo. It had been written by a woman who said she spoke with the wind and accused Dominion of "voting irregularities." The writer admitted her own theories were "pretty wackadoodle." Bartiromo forwarded that memo to Grossberg, the producer who booked guests for the show. On Sept. 14, 2022, Grossberg told Dominion's attorneys under oath that such a memo should not have been used as the basis of any such segments. "This isn't something that I would use right now as reportable for air, no, it's not," said Grossberg in her deposition. And when asked whether she thought it was important to correct a falsehood said on one of her shows, Grossberg answered, "No."
Hey, it’s not my job to correct the record! I just put looney tunes characters on my show! What they say on the show is not my responsibility!
Now, remember, Grossberg did not tell the whole truth in that deposition. She said she wasn’t uncomfortble with that “c” word used to describe Powell. Therefore, she was willing to tell little white lies. It’s only when she saw the handwriting on the wall, “It was all Grossberg’s fault!” that Grossberg filed her lawsuit stating, “NOT ME!”
And here is the part where you have to look at Grossberg and think, “Did you really think Emperor Murdoch wouldn’t throw you to the hungry lions to appease the mob?” No offense to Ms. Grossberg, but she is a peon. And peons get shitcanned from Fox all the time. And not only is she a peon, but she is a FEMALE peon.
Oh yeah, Ms. Grossberg noticed that women are called all kinds of lovely words by the so called men at Fox. After all, this is the place that Roger Ailes built. And Ailes was a man who made one of his employees give him oral sex while at the office and treated her like a sex slave. Then there was Bill O’Reilly sexual harassment of one of his producers.
They were only forced out when enough women came forward with complaints to other media outlets, and Fox had to settle multiple lawsuits. In other words, it had to cost Murdoch many, many millions of dollars to defend the big boys at Fox before Ailes and O’Reilly were fired. Now, if you are the low white man on the Fox totem pole, Murdoch will sacrifice such a man. It’s why Lou Dobbs got the “Don’t let the door hit you in the ass on the way out!” treatment. Murdoch threw Dobbs overboard to feed the hungry sharks from Dominion.
Oh,and if you are a small fry like Ed Henry, you can be fired if you are accused of rape.
So it takes a lot of scandal and outright crimes before executives or stars of Fox are fired. And Fox acts like they have cleaned up their act, the Ed Henry rape allegations came out in 2020. This didn’t happen in the Dark Ages. And if Ms. Grossberg is to be believed, we still have the “boys will be boys” attitude at Fox.
And this brings us back to her lawsuit against Fox. While I think Fox should be punished by the legal system until they are forced into bankruptcy, I’m not sure that Grossberg is going to win her lawsuit. And it is hard to fell a lot of sympathy for her, considering she was OK with Fox polluting the media information system with lies. Fox has not only been a problem for its employees, but Fox propaganda has proven to be toxic for our democracy.
And this is where I have the problem with anyone who still works for Fox. It is not a news organization. It’s a Republican propaganda channel. And it helped incite a violent insurrection.
You can see why I do not respect anyone who works at Fox.
Grossberg was part of the problem, and it was only when she discovered that Murdoch is planning his own Night of the Long Knives with Ms. Grossberg as a scapegoat that she starts to tell the rest of us how bad Fox is. I don’t need anymore stories about how bad Fox is. I think most of us outside of the conservative propaganda bubble know how bad Fox is.
But if it will cost Murdoch some more money, by all means, I hope she does succeed in her lawsuit.
