Mike Lindell goes to a windmill to investigate Hunter Biden's laptop
Get it for less with promo code “Treason 2.0”. Just kidding. The promo code is “cool” and some number. Pillowmonger Mike Lindell claims the new MyPillow 2.0 helps keep you cool and comfortable at night.
There’s something creepy about the commercial. A man and a woman, presumably married, go to sleep, and the next morning Mike Lindell checks in on them. Did Mike Lindell watch them sleep the whole night? And why is Lindell wearing the same sleepwear as the husband? I somehow doubt the Bible endorses such a sleeping arrangement, or maybe it does, I don’t know.
I admit I’m not judging the product on its own merits. Instead of asking whether or not the product does what Lindell promises, I instead wonder: how is the Dominion lawsuit against him going?
Cheryl Teh for Business Insider:
Mike Lindell, the CEO of MyPillow, says he had to borrow $10 million in 2022 just to keep his pillow company afloat. Speaking to Insider on Wednesday night [March 15, 2023], Lindell said that to keep MyPillow going, he borrowed "about 4 million in May, 2 million in the summer, and 4 million in September." And on top of that, Lindell said he's personally been borrowing money to stay liquid, too. "I sold a building I had in Savage, in Minnesota, in October," Lindell told Insider. "And I had to borrow 2 million too. I've spent it all on fighting for this country."
Of course you know that by “for” he means “against.”
And by the way, shame on you to all those who doubted Mike Lindell has a private plane: he really does have a private plane, and the repair bill for a door that fell off the decrepit aircraft last year should be proof enough.
Even if no repairs are needed, maintaining a private plane costs at least half a million dollars a year. Lindell needs to get around, so he’s made sacrifices in other areas of his life, in addition to borrowing money.
Lindell declined to reveal who loaned him the money but told Insider that a majority of the borrowed cash had gone to defending MyPillow against the lawsuits filed against the company. One of the major ongoing lawsuits is a $1.3 billion defamation lawsuit from Dominion Voting Systems, which cites both MyPillow and its owner, Lindell, in the case.
That’s worth emphasizing: the pillow company is a defendant in the defamation suit. Imagine getting a job at MyPillow, thinking that it’s a nice, uncontroversial job, and then getting embroiled in an attempt to overthrow the government of the United States. Maybe you would have been better off working for a fracking company.
Ouch. Walmart. Hardly a paragon of integrity.
Last week, Lindell whined to We Build the Wall fraudster Steve Bannon about his financial woes, then backtracked the same day. Matt Young and Zachary Petrizzo for the Daily Beast:
MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell says his company is in great shape, just hours after telling Steve Bannon it was going broke due to political pressure. “I invented MyPillow2.0 and it is doing great!” Lindell told The Daily Beast on Wednesday night [March 15, 2023]. Despite trying to claim that his business was the victim of a political vendetta earlier on Wednesday, Lindell was quickly peddling a different story. “Over 1/2 the loans are already paid back! MyPillow2.0 is manufactured 100% by MyPillow in Minnesota! You must have seen the ads in all TV stations across the country,” he said, referencing his collaboration with QAnon podcasts and web shows that are selling MyPillow products in a significant profit-sharing deal.
I saw the ad yesterday, I’m not sure if it was during The Young and the Restless or The Bold and the Beautiful or The Talk (which this week is celebrating the half centennial of The Young and the Restless — a show that outlasted Roe v. Wade).
If the MyPillow 2.0 ad ran during last night’s new NCIS episode, I did not see it, as I did not watch that show beyond the cold open, I think I turned my TV off altogether.
I tuned back in for NCIS: Hawai’i, but as I was paying more attention to the plot than I do with the soaps, I did not pay much attention to the commercials. The ones that I did see were the usual stuff (Skyrizi, Ozempic and such). Maybe Lindell doesn’t have NCIS commercials money.
