In 1993, Waco, Texas made national headlines when the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms (ATF) were facing off the Branch Davidians cult, who were stockpiling on machine guns, grenades, and explosives, at a compound 15-20 minutes away from Downtown Waco. The siege spurred extreme anti-government sentiment from right-wingers, even to the point where Timothy McVeigh bombed the Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City back in 1995.
30 years later, a disgraced Donald Trump will hold his first campaign rally at Waco Regional Airport on 25 March; he hopes to coalesce his supporters in order to “take [the] nation back”. This, when Ron DeSantis seems to lose momentum among red-faced Republicans, at least when up against Trump.
“It is undisputed that Texas is Trump Country after electing 37 Trump Endorsed Candidates and recent polling among Texas primary voters,” his campaign staff wrote in a news release announcing the event. Trump’s campaign cited a tweet from Interactive Polls, a conservative media company, as evidence that in polls Texans favor Trump over Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, a potential Republican nominee.

With the Branch Davidians, the home of Ted Nugent, the 2015 biker gang shoot-out, and the upcoming Trump rally, the birthplace of Dr Pepper and Magnolia can’t seem to catch a break.
x This is, I'm sure, exactly why Trump is going to Waco.

Then again, Trump still owes money to multiple municipalities.
