Joyce Craig announces she will not run for reelection as mayor of Manchester

Manchester Mayor Joyce Craig is not running for reelection.Craig made the announcement Thursday morning, touching off a wide-open race for the corner office at Manchester City Hall.Craig is the first woman to lead the Queen City.The Democrat won three terms and helped guide Manchester through the COVID-19 pandemic.Craig is touting what she said is Manchester’s "historic growth" during her tenure. There's no word yet as to what's next for Craig. “Right now, I’m finishing off my term, I still have a number of months here as mayor of Manchester, and then we'll decide how I can best serve our community," Craig said. Craig has clashed with Gov. Chris Sununu, R-New Hampshire, on issues like homelessness and education funding.For some time now, there's been speculation at the State House that she could one day run for governor.
