#Rethuglicans? No, Republicans. Don't drop down to their level when speaking about them. [1]

I am sure to be told off for being all "Grammar Police" on the Community. But I cannot resist, in this case.
I fully admit that I have
at times, lowered myself to the use of slang like “Ochre Ogre” to describe the former president. For which I am not really sorry, he is a POS and never should have been able to ascend to that high Office.
That being said, I’ve been a registered DK Community member since October of 2003.
I’ve seen a lot of change here at Daily Kos in those years, but what bothers me the most aren’t the GUI (graphic user interface) changes (although some of that does tend to annoy me). My particular nit is the way some people here describe our political enemies (that is what they are in this era, not just opponents).
Upon reading through any story here involving Trump, McConnell, McCarthy, Boebert, Gaetz, Jordan and a whole host of denizens from the conservative side of the aisle, you will come upon comments like this one written recently. I’m not using a screenshot, I don’t want anyone to know who the person is or when or in which story it was posted. I am presenting this ONLY as an example of what I am talking about:
I would love to believe that Pence, DeSatan or Haley would win the 2024 Rethuglican nomination for POTUS and then Anus Orange would (1) run third party or, (2) write in or (3) simply tell his minions to stay home. However, just as in 2016, a crowded Rethug POTUS field insures AO’s nomination which puts him frighteningly close to the Presidency again.
When I responded with this suggestion:
You know, that sentence would read just as well, and I think better, if you didn’t throw in all that slang. “I would love to believe that Pence, DeSatntis or Haley would win the 2024 Republican nomination for POTUS and then Trump would (1) run third party or, (2) write in or (3) simply tell his minions to stay home. However, just as in 2016, a crowded (R) POTUS field insures Trump’s nomination which puts him frighteningly close to the Presidency again.” I have to tell you, sometimes anymore I just get tired of trying to decipher the language used here at Daily Kos. It’s not 9th grade you know, and most of us are grown ups, can’t we write like grown ups?
this was the reply:
