According to CNN, last night at the Gridiron Dinner, Pence came out swinging at Trump over J6.
President Trump was wrong. I had no right to overturn the election and his reckless words endangered my family and everyone at the Capitol that day, and I know that history will hold Donald Trump accountable.
He also banged on the insurrectionists as well.
Tourists don’t injure 140 police officers by sightseeing. Tourists don’t break down doors to get to the Speaker of the House or voice threats against public officials.
The political opportunity to take the high road was there. I was waiting for Pence to finally take it, and he did. He’s decided to run for President. This will put him at odds with Trump and Fox, but both of those opponents are as weak as they may get right now.
This will also set off the fun questions for DeSantis and Haley! “Do you agree with Pence’s statements on J6?”
Gonna be tricky….
