“Moose” is an Algonquin term meaning “eater of twigs".
The Washington Post reported on a Norwegian study that ravenous moose are destroying potential future carbon sinks by devouring the bushes and reedy plants that grow after a clear-cut forest. By humans, I might add. They also fart from their high-fiber diet. I know; WTF?
The researchers wanted to see how moose affect the far north's Boreal forests. The boreal forests are one of fifteen active climate tipping points. They are currently in extreme danger from wildfires, drought, and lightning strikes, all exacerbated by sapiens burning fossil fuels that pour greenhouse gases into the atmosphere and warm the planet.
These forests suffer from permafrost thaw and are also known as drunken forests, as the trees can no longer stand upright due to warming from the low sea ice in the Arctic ocean. This process is known as Arctic Amplification, where the Arctic is warming four to seven times faster than the rest of the planet. Losing the Boreal will be a massive blow to the biosphere's survival as they store carbon dioxide from the atmosphere in the plants and the soil.
Do you want to know what else these devils do to kill the earth? They dare to trample understory plants with their hooves and defecate and urinate on the forest floor—the horrors.
