Hello — I’ve seen requests for funds here before so I’m assuming this one is allowed under the DK rules. I was lucky enough to spend a month in Madagascar just before COVID hit. I met a number of locals who were thoroughly invested in local school kids, leveraging their interfaces with tourists to help fund tuition and and supplies for kids whose parents could not afford to do so.

We purchased piles of notebooks and writing utensils that we transported to local villages. I was quite struck on how enthralled the kids were with these meager supplies. They want to go to school, to learn.

Because tourism took a hit because of COVID and is still climbing out of the hole, friends in Madagascar asked be to spread the fund-raising word. I know there is a lot of competition for charity funds, but these monies would go directly to spending on tuition and school supplies. It is a small scale function of volunteers with very little overhead. Anyway, if you can spare a little it would be appreciated.

Hoping to raise more funds than this tip jar……
