Daily Bucket: Friday Sequence; Bubbles. [1]

We’ll start out with the sequence.

Those bubbles look so big and pretty.

Here comes trouble.

One bubble is bursting to the left as the boy watches the bubbles up close. What do you think happens next?

It was inevitable. He couldn’t resist. Bubble starts to collapse.

Bubble turns into soapy water raining down.

Bubble still not totally affected by gravity.

Boy running through it.

Just misses getting the brunt of the broken bubble’s blast.

I used to have one of those large bubble makers. Here is one recipe:

2 cups dish soap

2 Tablespoons baking powder

2 Tablespoons corn starch

4 Tablespoons of glycerin

Mix in large bowl. Pour in ½ gallon distilled water, and stir.

Allow to sit overnight for best results.

Let me know if anyone tries it. Photos would be a bonus.

This is what many of you will recall using when you were younger (even yesterday counts as younger :)

A small container of bubbles at a wedding I attended. It was to take the place of rice which the church didn’t allow due to difficulty cleaning the rice off the ground.

I tried to make a pyramid of bubbles, unsuccessfully. I tried different solutions in my cookie sheet. I would have had a better result, I think, if I had made my own bubble recipe instead of using the commercial bottle from Mexico shown above as “Miracle” Bubbles.



At first I could only get two bubbles to join.

I got better with practice, but I could not get them to make a pyramid.
