There is a post trending about Tom Nichols — formerly of the Naval War College, currently a writer for The Atlantic — being a conservative who “finally” see what’s wrong with Trump supporters. Nichols has been loudly and relentlessly a Never Trumper since day one. He called Trump out as an autocrat who was a danger to democracy when he ran for office in 2016. He has for years condemned his supporters as people who want to tear apart the country. He dismissed the “economic anxiety” canard from the beginning as an example of the media not understanding what was happening. He has never stopped.

Here is a podcast with Nichols from years back where he tears Trump to shreds.

If folks are going to cite conservatives who “finally” have turned against Trump and his supporters, be fair and don’t use as examples people who have been fighting against the man from the get-go.
