Bugtopia is a temporary exhibit at the Zoo Tampa. It’s aimed at little kids, but since I am just a big kid I liked it too. :) It’s a collection of giant animatronic bugs.
Some photos.
For those who don't know, I live in a converted campervan and travel around the country, posting photo diaries of places that I visit. I am currently wintering in Florida.
Bugtopia
When you enter, the “Shrinking Machine” zaps you down to the size of a bug
Flower Mantis. It scared the crap out of some of the smaller kids.
Emperor Scorpion. Another kid-scarer.
Red-Tailed Bumblebee
Bombardier Beetle. Squirts water at you as you walk by.
Meadow Grasshopper
European Stag Beetle
Says Firefly
Black Ants
Orb-Weaver Spider. Another kid-scarer.
Seven-Spot Ladybug
Blue-Eyed Darner
Mexican Redknee Tarantula. The granddaddy of all kid-scarers.
