Ready for the new storm

The 3 frogs are ready to do their job and measure the rain that is expected soon here in So Cal. It sure doesn’t look like it today though. It was warm and sunny. I worked on trimming the honey suckle tree. I know, its supposed to be a bush but bushes get away from me and become trees.

As you can see by Itzl's concerned look, this group is for us to check in at to let people know we are alive, doing OK, and not affected by such things as heat, blizzards, floods, wild fires, hurricanes, tornadoes, power outages, or other such things that could keep us off DKos. If you're not here, or anywhere else on DKos, and there are adverse conditions in your area (floods, heatwaves, hurricanes, etc.), we are going to check up on you. If you are going to be away from your computer for a day or a week, let us know here. We care!

IAN is a great group to join, and a good place to learn to write diaries. Drop one of us a PM to be added to the Itzl Alert Network anytime! We all share the publishing duties, and we welcome everyone who reads IAN to write diaries for the group! Every member is an editor, so anyone can take a turn when they have something to say, photos and music to share, a cause to promote or news!

Some years ago, I had another bush turned tree, a 10 ft tall hibiscus tree in the front, on the side of my house. It was gorgeous, lots of flowers and lots of shade. But one day, I came home and found it had fallen over, landing on Bill’s 60’s era Monaco. It didn’t do any damage to the car, the car was made to last. When I checked out the tree, I found it had no roots! They had been eaten away by something I never saw. It stood there for some time, looking fine, but waiting for a strong wind to knock it over. It was amazing to see.

The honey suckle tree is doing fine but needs a haircut. So I did about 1/3 of it, all stuff I could reach from the ground and trace out to its ends. That part looks better but I am out of trash cans for the green trash. So I will have to wait until they pick up Thursday afternoon and can work again if the rain doesn’t get here.

The report says it will rain all day on Friday but be gone by Saturday. We will see. Have a good day all.
