Just when You thought Elon Musk couldn't sink any lower, he DOUBLE’S DOWN.(www.cnn.com/...)
“Elon Musk publicly mocks Twitter worker with disability who is unsure whether he’s been laid off” should not surprise us, I guess. Exposing himself as an Ableist is right in character in being a narcissist, Market Manipulator, Racist, January 6 Conspirator and whatever else happens to pop in his twisted pathetic brain when he rises from his coffin every day.
What riles me the most is hearing the ever dwindling chorus of friends, and sometimes family, who would praise this latter-day Tony Stank as a visionary and a genius. My late brother, who himself was a true Progressive who unfortunately fell down Rabbit Holes after chasing the ghosts of the Kennedys’ and Iran-Contra, was willing to overlook Elon’s disdain and disregard for the people who worked hard to make his companies succeed. It’s becoming clearer every day that Musk has little or any idea how any of his vaunted technology even works, and he’s been bluffing his way through all this time.
I came rather late to using Twitter. I had an account for years that I was afraid to use, since on Facebook you are mostly relegated to pissing off and blocking family and old friends. But during the 2020 Election, and stuck at home by an inconvenient plague, I took the plunge. I found it surprisingly useful in discovering information and ideas I often didn’t learn in mainstream news, and there were some fun and interesting people on there too. Also a lot of sad and hurting people who were looking for an outlet to vet their pain and frustration or just to see if anyone cared. My chief rule was to avoid arguing with idiots. Now that was a tough one.
There’s no rational reason to stay on Twitter anymore. The employees that worked to keep it a viable platform are mostly gone and bots and Yes Men are running the place, all at the whim of the Narcissist-in-Chief. And the fact that nobody is minding the store makes it even dangerous to securely browse through it. I left two weeks ago and I’m not returning, and so-called “legitimate” news organizations should stop being cheap and lazy and do the same. If you keep feeding the beast it will eventually consume you.
These are just my thoughts, and I’ve been trying to put them together for a while. Twitter is a Walking Corpse and I for one am not a fan of Zombie movies and television shows. I made up my mind about Musk back during the rescue of the soccer team in Thailand, when he threw a fit because the rescuers explained how useless his little submarine was. And we know how that went. The way he acts on Twitter is just the same as his conduct was then, and It’s not going to get better. The only difference between Musk and Donald Trump is that Elon could afford better hair plugs, though they might have drilled too deep.
