Someone's Gonna Have to Spin Off a Party To Destroy the MAGA Republicans [1]

In the 1850s there was a Nativist party that believed wild conspiracy theories (about Catholics) called the Know-Nothings. MAGA Republicanism is probably most closely related to this party.
SOMETHING has to happen to prevent another MAGA Republican from becoming President.
I believe someone has to spin-off as a third party in 2024:
Trump doesn’t win the nomination and runs as a third party (given what he’s been saying, he seems to be setting this up)
or
The rational core of the Republican party runs a Sununu or a Liz Cheney as a third party to fully split the vote and destroy the MAGA candidacy.
Note the supposed “rational” core of the GOP is wrong about so so much, but we now have the MAGAs sucking up to Russia openly, and playing dangerous games with regard to our freedoms even more than before.
What can we do?
Can Kos direct some polling toward what this kind of split would do to the electorate and electoral college? I’m convinced Cheney probably gets 10% of the vote as a third party… but what would Sununu or someone less hated by the right get?
What would Trump as a third party do?
There are some ways the national party can push on this issue but we need to be able to make data driven decisions.
