This is just truth as I see it. I greatly respect Marcos and he deserves and has earned it. Marcos and Daily Kos have done a lot of good in the world.



Marcos led Daily Kos to become the leading political website for democrats and progressives

Nearly 20 years (about 17 years) is a long time and I have been an active user almost that entire time. There weren't that many days when I wasn't on Daily Kos at some point during the day. I feel that gives me a lot of evidence showing who Marcos is as a person and how he has led Daily Kos. I have watched as he led Daily Kos through many changes and upgrades. He has navigated changes in the environment well. In my view, today it seems clear that Daily Kos is the premier progressive and Democratic Party website in the country and the world. To have raised Daily Kos to this point is a massive achievement.



Because of his leadership, Daily Kos was able to play a decisive role in defeating fascism and anti-democracy politics

The consequences of this and the quality and existence of Daily Kos should be written about by historians when they write about how American democracy was saved. The 2020 Democratic National Convention was virtual. Traditional in person organizing didn't happen for our political party because of COVID. That only makes it more clear how important a presence this website which he built has. There is no other progressive or Democratic Party website with the reach and membership of Daily Kos. This is where the vast majority of progressives go for News that we can use so that we elect more and better democrats. There was and there still is not any comparable progressive website / website that supports the Democratic Party. There is not a progressive website that has done or can do what Daily Kos has done. Imagine a world in which Daily Kos did not exist in 2020 prior to the presidential election. This is a time when democracy in America is facing an existential threat while a pandemic is raging. Is there any doubt that the outcome would have been different?



In summation, Marcos has done a lot of good in the world

You have done a massive amount of good in the world, Marcos. That's reality. It's the truth.
