'Maybe hold a hearing': Rep. Moskowitz turns Comer's 'misinformation' complaint back on Republicans [1]

The slim Republican majority in the House has given the do-nothing party of billionaire donors one thing they can do: spin the wheels of House oversight committees in political theater circles. Republican Rep. James Comer of Kentucky is doing his best to use his new position as chair of the House Oversight and Accountability Committee to promote his personal brand of boot licking. This includes the unbelievable low of lamenting not being able to investigate President Biden’s late son Beau Biden for … being related to President Biden.
His other job is to facilitate the political revenge theater the Republican Party hopes will act as a smokescreen for the fact that they are unable to offer up real policy plans for governing. To that end, Comer has spent most of his camera time arguing that Democratic amendments for continuing subcommittees on topics like civil rights should be rejected because when Democrats had the majority, they didn’t allow him to wield subcommittees to hold witch hunts into conspiracy theories.
On Wednesday, Comer tried to work the other right-wing misinformation trick of telling a half-truth and then implying something that is actually in opposition of the facts. It was a similar stunt to one Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene tried to pull during another hearing on Tuesday. In Comer’s case, he wanted to imply that Dr. Anthony Fauci (and by extension the Democratic Party) had been lying to the American people about the COVID-19 pandemic.
Democratic Rep. Jared Moskowitz of Florida made sure that people watching understood what and who lied to the American people and, by extension, how bankrupt a person James Comer really is.
