Kevin McCarthy shows that Fox is more powerful than the Republicans [1]

These two really are just the absolute worst.
That lying punk Tucker Carlson and the rest of the assholes at Fox are now on the record as liars, as per the Dominion defamation case, right? And yet BS Kevin McCarthy just gave that lying punk Tucker and the assholes at Fox all the video from January 6th. To do what with we can only imagine, but you can bet it’s going to include hellfire and damnation for anyone who isn’t them. And given how the mainstream media of whatever ilk are nothing but lemmings chasing eyeballs these days, and much of the public is weak to their powers, whatever lying Tucker vomits out will dominate the news for a good while, guaranteed, and will achieve the goal of giving people the freedom to hate on anyone who isn’t them all over again.
On another tack, however, BS McCarthy giving those videos to Fox? That shows me that he doesn’t trust? want? need? his own House Republicans to do anything themselves with the video despite now having the ability to do so through their majority and investigatory powers. McCarthy knows that if he tried to hold a hearing, Democrats wouldn’t cower and hide in cowardice like Republicans did during the prior Congress. Instead, he’s trusting some incredibly important data with a bunch of folks who are now on the record as nothing but greedy liars — and, it should be noted, greedy liars about the very issue reflected on all that data he just game them. What could possibly go wrong?
But the bigger point is that in so doing, BS McCarthy is at least tacitly acknowledging that Fox news is more powerful than Republicans in Congress. That Republicans in Congress, to borrow from Jack Nicholson, can’t handle the truth. Or, maybe it’s as simple as Fox having better video editors to spin what happened into some “Democrats are the cause!” narrative, which is what they are going to do, of course. Whatever the reason, it’s now abundantly clear that it’s Fox before Republicans in terms of who controls the narrative, and that’s even worse than if Republicans were leading the way themselves.
Not for nothing, but my guess is that when McCarthy saw how much former Speaker and fellow poster boy for all the failures of Gen X, Paul Ryan, was making for getting Trump’s tax cut done, including 300K+ for doing nothing on the Board of Directors for Fox except being passively complicit in all of Fox’s evils, his choice became obvious: to find his in for his post-Congress cash grab.
Fox isn't just ‘an arm’ of the Republican Party anymore. It has overtaken the Republican Party as leading the opposition.
Regardless, we’ve all known for a while now that the Republican party is dead, but what it has become has been harder to pin down. But I think we’ve got it now.
Long live the Fox Party.
