Tell us your stories, mama. I am comfy.

When I started writing here, I was going for a slice of life kind of diary. I am told the experts say write what you know and I at least have been living. This is kind of a long, rambling diary about everyday events.

As you can see by Itzl's concerned look, this group is for us to check in at to let people know we are alive, doing OK, and not affected by such things as heat, blizzards, floods, wild fires, hurricanes, tornadoes, power outages, or other such things that could keep us off DKos. If you're not here, or anywhere else on DKos, and there are adverse conditions in your area (floods, heatwaves, hurricanes, etc.), we are going to check up on you. If you are going to be away from your computer for a day or a week, let us know here. We care!

IAN is a great group to join, and a good place to learn to write diaries. Drop one of us a PM to be added to the Itzl Alert Network anytime! We all share the publishing duties, and we welcome everyone who reads IAN to write diaries for the group! Every member is an editor, so anyone can take a turn when they have something to say, photos and music to share, a cause to promote or news!

First off but in no particular order or significance, sour dough rolls. I tried the recipe twice and they were not successful in the main. I used too much water in the first batch. The dough was very lazy. I did the whole process to see what would happen. The rolls did not rise much, did have a lot of holes like sour dough should have, and were hard thick crusted. I tried again. The dough was better but the result was not. I am giving up on rolls and maybe sour dough bread too. My baking has always been pitiful and I wonder just why I have so much trouble. If I could take a live baking class, I feel I could learn to do better. At least Lil Zen likes the bread. When I was with her on Sunday, I cooked dinner for us and when we got to the table, she had a loaf of my bread there too which she toasted some of.

Next off, Alien Tape. Do you know this stuff? The tape is thick and can be stuck to almost any surface. Then you can remove the object by wiggling it and the tape can be washed and reused. I have used it to tape a wire storage rack to the wall in the cat’s bathroom. It fell over, with the help of the cats, and after I fixed and reassembled it, I used the tape on the uprights against the wall and it is very sturdy now. I also used it to mount a remote control to the wall for the fan and light in my sewing room. There is a light switch there that is apparently not connected to any outlet and I just put the remote and its holder right over the switch plate. I also taped a container up high on the wall to catch any leaked rain in our creepy closet where it leaks once in a blue moon. So far, that has been dry during this latest storm set. I highly recommend this tape for odd uses.

I have an alarm in my Rav4 that looks kind of like this: (..!..). It looks like a butt on my dash board. It took me a while to find out it is a low tire pressure alarm and is supposed to look like a tire. My alarm is faulty and comes on at odd times during the year for a month or so and then goes back into hiding. I can clear it with a button but it is a funny thing. Funny thing is that it did not come on atall when I had a flat tire a couple of months ago, but it calls out low tire pressure for no reason.

I went to a bra store on Monday for this first time in at least 10 years. I have been wearing sports bras for a very long time. They don’t actually support or “lift and separate” but they keep the girls together and out from my arm pits. But I was fitted by the sweetest young black woman, very pretty and friendly. She did a fine job and when I was ready to leave, she said to me “Could we have a nice hug?” and i said yes. It was so sweet. Then I came home, put the bra on and tried to go out. I lasted about 10 minutes before the underwires rubbing on my ribs hurt, they also slid up into my arm pits and jabbed me. I had a visceral memory of why I quit wearing those industrial over the should boulder holders and took it off. I now am faced with going back to return it and I will spend the $55 to buy some jammies instead. It is not that I was not fitted properly, it is that I am not fit for it atall.

I was at another store and ended up shoulder hugging the gentleman helping me and we both laughed that this little old lady was hugging a complete stranger in Lowe’s. I think bigjac is responsible for it.

Ok, enough rambling for today. Have a good day, stay warm and dry if that is a situation for you.
