I came across a video of Bonnie Raitt singing with someone, the other day. I love Bonnie Raitt, and it occurred to me that I see videos of her duetting a lot. So today, we have some of those duets.
❧ With John Lee Hooker in 1991: I’m in the Mood.
::sigh:: Since this site shows some people big blank white spaces where videos are supposed to be, I will include links in case such people would like to see any of these videos. LINK [4:15]
❧ With Ruthie Foster, from the film The Road to Austin, of the 2007 music event of the same name. This is the first of two Angel from Montgomery performances in this diary. LINK [7:16]
❧ With Delbert McClinton on Late Night with David Letterman in 1992: Good Man, Good Woman. LINK [3:44]
❧ With Alison Krauss, in a live 2005 performance in Atlantic City NJ, recorded for VH1 Classic Presents Decades Rock Live!: You. LINK [6:16]
❧ With Jackson Browne in 1995: My Opening Farewell. LINK [4:40]

❧ With Crosby, Stills, and Nash, at the 2009 25th anniversary concert for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame: Love Has No Pride. LINK [6:09]
❧ With Melissa Etheridge and Bruce Hornsby, at the 2000 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductions: Thing Called Love. LINK [4:15]
❧ With Norah Jones, from the same 2005 Atlantic City show as the Alison Krauss song above: Tennessee Waltz. LINK [5:30]
❧ With Tracy Chapman, Jeff Beck, and Beth Hart, paying tribute to Buddy Guy at the 2012 Kennedy Center Honors: Sweet Home Chicago. LINK [3:21]
❧ With the song’s composer, John Prine, at the 2019 Americana 18th Annual Honors: Angel from Montgomery. LINK [4:25]
(From the YouTube page: “The Americana Music Association® is a professional not-for-profit trade organization whose mission is to advocate for the authentic voice of American roots music around the world.”
From the YouTube comments: “How The Hell Can A Person Go To Work In The Mornin, Come Home In The Evenin and have Nothin To Say" maybe the finest words ever written. RIP John Prine.”)
❧ With Sippie Wallace (the song’s composer) and Dr. John, on Late Night with David Letterman, 1982: Women Be Wise. LINK [4:32]
The embedded video is cued up at 11:40 for this song, but it’s really a 16-minute compilation of all the related segments of the show, starting with a song from Bonnie Raitt, then interview segments with her and Sippie Wallace, who was then 83 years old. Link above starts at the beginning of the video.

You know this had to be the finale — Happy birthday, side pocket!
❧ With Mark Knopfler, at his 2019 tour-closing stop at Madison Square Garden in New York: Wherever I Go. LINK [7:58]
A very happy day-early birthday to side pocket!
Many more, please!
