This is not a joke. I confirmed it with several sources even beyond the media. I would say I am shocked but I don’t know if I am capable of that anymore.
x BREAKING: Republican Senator Blaise Ingoglia of Florida has just put forth a new bill that would eliminate the Florida Democratic Party, because you know, fascism and authoritarianism is the way that Republicans in Florida apparently operate. Here are the details:
- SB 1248,…

- SB 1248, called "The Ultimate Cancel Act," seeks to cancel any political party that supported slavery in the past.- Since Southern Democrats supported slavery in the 1800's the Republican Senator believes that they should no longer exist in Florida.- If the bill passes, all Democrats in Florida will be stripped of their registered party.- All Democrats would have to associate with another party.
I suppose I don’t have to remind anybody here about past precedent. I am posting this blurb but will be adding to it as the day goes along.
Blaise Ingoglia is another wannabe tough guy, originally from New York, who likes to swing his weight and run his mouth. Some background:
After withdrawing from Brooklyn College, Ingoglia eventually started a company dealing with mortgages in 2008 called America One Mortgage and another one called Hartland Homes. But this is not just a run of the mill barstool loudmouth filing this bill, this is the former Chair of the Florida Republican Party.
He is an extremist with a bent against voting rights, and it appears Florida is heading into the 1950’s at breathtaking speed.
In terms of the past precedent, of course we all know what happened in Germany, when the National Socialist Party, known as the Nazis, made their move to form a dictatorship.
In another pivotal step in the transformation of German society from a democracy to a dictatorship, the Nazi leadership passed the Law against the Founding of New Parties. With this law, passed on July 14, 1933, all other political entities were disbanded or dissolved. As a consequence, some activists fled abroad. Others prepared to work within an illegal party framework. Some parties went underground and some simply dissolved from intimidation and pressure. Germany became a one-party dictatorship led by National Socialists, whom the law made the only legitimate political party in the country.
Democracy works under very specific conditions, and among those conditions are that 1. The vanquished accept the results. 2. That there is respect for debate and dissension. 3. It only works when all sides respect proper decorum, and 4. That any and all attempts to destabilize it are met with appropriate legal responses.
The problem, as exampled by the person who instigated it running around freely and attempting to become President for a second time, is that all four of these tenets have collapsed.
They say it can’t happen here. I have been told many things could not happen since 2000.
Most of them did.
