Never open your mouth

When you can breath through your nose.

For when you do you may convey your thoughts

And we don’t need anything as repugnant as those.

Black people are not a hate group.

People don’t like to be only a means to an end.

Folks tend to get wary when their humanity has been secondary

And history that can’t reach us won’t teach us, my friend.

Your suggestion that the Holocaust numbers need to be reexamined

For a possible revision downward

Is phrased in a way to appear reasonable

But trust us, we understand what we heard.

And “getting the hell away from black people”

Is a message that we all read loud and clear

Segregation, apartheid, or ethnic cleansing

Is the antithesis of what a democracy holds dear.

You probably will claim to have been canceled

When newspapers are no longer displaying

In easy view, that “Dilbert” thing that you do

So brace yourself for the tiny violins we’ll be playing.
