Angry 'Karen' Greene whines about "boarsh*t" during her endless look-at-me tour [1]

Marjorie Taylor Greene complains that being a US Representative is a time-consuming position. She whined to Glenn Greenwald that “it’s [her job] turned into practically year-round.” Apparently, she thought it was part-time. She moans “we don’t get to go home and spend more time with our families, our friends.” Yet when she has the chance to do so, she does not take it.
When this complainer is not on the job, she crosses the country, sharing her high-volume take on current events with people who think she has something to offer. And this week, that take is her thoughts on the Chinese balloon.
Yesterday, she gave the MAGAs in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, her play-by-play recap of what she had yelled at administration officials in DC during a classified briefing on the intrusion. As usual, she provided heat without illumination.
According to her, this is what she told America’s military/intelligence experts:
“And you allowed, allowed … you sat by and allowed this Chinese spy balloon, that could have contained a bioweapon like Covid. It could've contained a nuclear bomb, an EMT attack, or hypersonic missiles like the Chinese government, the CCP, has shown their own people of these weather balloons dropping hypersonic missiles. They show these on video. Absolutely. This is a common thing.
Let us parse the insanity — with a caveat. Greene mangles her syntax and obscures the point she is trying to make. So some of the analysis is speculative. Bearing that in mind, she is either suggesting that the intelligence community is unaware of what big balloons can carry. Or that they allowed a balloon, which they knew was dangerous, to fly over the US.
I will assume she meant the latter. So why did she not ask them what their thinking was? Briefings are a perfect opportunity to ask questions and learn. But Greene is not the learning type unless she is on Facebook or watching YouTube — her go-tos for information on the state of the world.
Note: I could not find any YouTube videos of the Chinese dropping hypersonic missiles from balloons — which is odd as Greene says they are a common thing. Perhaps they are part of the premium package. Also, why would the Chinese drop COVID on us? It is already here.
Nevertheless, she did acknowledge that the authorities had said shooting down the balloon over places where people lived would be dangerous. And they also let it continue flying so the US could gather intelligence.
As she added:
They allowed, I said you allowed, this thing to go across the country and then you want to stand up here and give us our excuses, your excuses, on why you didn’t shoot it down because your gathering “intelligence” or you didn’t want to risk endangering anyone’s lives. I said that is the biggest bunch of boar-shit. *applause*
It is predictable that Greene would call keeping Americans safe and learning stuff “boar-shit.” America is not her primary concern — she has not yet said or done anything to benefit the nation. And her relentless pursuit of media coverage allows no time for patriotism.
(Aside: She might have said “horseshit” — it is hard to decipher. She was as incoherent in her excitement as a sugared-up grade-schooler at a Chucky E. Cheese birthday party.)

Luckily, we do not have to rely on Greene to tell us what the authorities knew. They have made it public . The Chinese ballon was not carrying COVID, missiles, or EMPs — it was gathering signals intelligence. She, of course, did not tell her MAGA fans this, as she has no use for facts — nor do they.
It is too bad. If Congress wants to make the military/intelligence community more forthcoming about the threats that face the US — if indeed this balloon was a threat — Representatives would do better to ask questions and demand answers. As any parent (except Greene) knows, children have a significant capacity to ignore yelling. What they fear is someone asking them why they did something they know was a bad thing to do.
Adults are no different — even when they are high government officials.
As long Greene and her 221 fellow Republican Representatives (220, when Santos gets axed) cater to low-information voters and provide sound bites to conservative media, they will discover nothing of value. They should study tapes of Elizabeth Warren and Katie Porter interrogating bank executives. I guarantee those financial charlatans would much prefer listening to mindless barking.
However, the Republicans will not change their spots. They are impervious to knowledge. They only know how to turn the volume up.
