The alligator lagoon at the St Augustine Alligator Farm is a favored spot for native birds to nest each year: the gators prevent predators like racoons or snakes from reaching the eggs or nestlings.
It’s too early yet for eggs, but everybody was starting their nest-building.

For those who don't know, I live in a converted campervan and travel around the country, posting photo diaries of places that I visit. I am currently wintering in St Augustine, Florida.
