Zenabu in Ghana is home with her baby and husband [1]

Just a very, very brief update to a happy story unfolding in Ghana.

Zenabu is a lady who went through a hard pregnancy and almost died of it. John in Ghana helped her as he could and she finally gave birth on January 31st. The story to that is www.dailykos.com/…

After she had given birth she was so weak the doctors kept her in the hospital until just Monday. The night before last John asked me for money to take her home. I sent what he asked and so he took her to be with her husband and little baby girl.

John sent me some photos of Zenabu at home, bathing her little baby, but the baby is nude and I thought perhaps I shouldn’t post them. Don’t want to upset those who may be upset by such things. I asked him to get photos that were more modest but he was too worn out from all of his efforts to go and take them until he rested. Which I totally understand and respect.

There are still challenges to be overcome. These people are excruciatingly poor and they will need help with formula, diapers, and so forth for their new child. Also they must have a naming ceremony for the little girl next week because they believe that if they do not give the child a name the baby might be taken back to the spirit world (though John is Christian and Zenabu and Habbi are Muslim, but even so….)

But sufficient unto the day are the evils thereof. For today everyone is home and safe.
