Then, on the rest of the menu, a cyberattack caused a nearly daylong outage of the nation’s new 988 mental health helpline late last year; a major northern Florida hospital system was hit by a ransomware attack over the weekend; and, spotty electronic poll book security raises considerable concerns going into 2024.
After the break, we move to the Chef’s Table where a Buddhist temple has been extensively damaged by fire in the Australian city of Melbourne; and, a pair of 7.8 magnitude earthquakes, followed by severe aftershocks, knocked down scores of buildings across Turkey and Syria.
