Sociopathism.
A system that permits the rise of sociopaths to leadership roles.
A system where gaslighting is the norm.
A system where divisive lies and deception are not only permissible, but required.
A system where the law is an irrelevance.
A system where the aggressor has the moral standing of the victim.
A system that normalizes the indefensible.
A system where simple slogans carry more weight than actual debate and facts are relegated to mere opinions.
What comes first, the sociopath or the system that promotes them, a chicken and egg question.
I struggled to use such classic definitions as fascism and communism to explain this modern trend, they do not seem to cover such “personalities” as Putin, Xi Jinping, The Orange Skid-mark, Bolsonaro etcetera, etcetera…
Policies such as replacing segregation with the Southern Strategy are a starting point.
“I believe xxx” becomes the most pertinent of all arguments.
Hmmmm.
